FEYNLAB® OVERCOAT v2
FEYNLAB® OVERCOAT v2 is the natural evolution of FEYNLAB OVERCOAT. In version 2, FEYNLAB utilizes a new resin system that increases the chemical protection, water spot resistance, hydrophobic properties, and ease of application.
The super low free surface energy of FEYNLAB® OVERCOAT v2 causes the surface to feel silky smooth to the touch and display super hydrophobic properties. FEYNLAB® OVERCOAT v2’s sole purpose is to add great water sheeting and self-cleaning properties to any of our ceramic coatings.
FEYNLAB® OVERCOAT v2 is intended to be applied on top of our other coatings and is the outermost layer of protection.
FEYNLAB® OVERCOAT v2 keeps exterior vehicle surfaces cleaner for longer due to its superior hydrophobic and self-cleaning properties. This means vehicles will remain cleaner over time and, when washing, water and contamination will release from the surface with great ease.
FEYNLAB’s true nano technology and bonding chemistry allows for an unparalleled level of protection since the formula penetrates further into the existing paint structure than anything else available.
Durability & Application Surfaces
FEYNLAB® OVERCOAT v2 has a durability of 1 year as a topper and standalone product.
Application includes 1 component layer, reaching an overall film build between 1-2 microns.

Always wear respirator & gloves during application. Ensure application area is free of loose contamination.
Prepping the Surface
Thoroughly clean vehicle using FEYNLAB® PURE WASH. Follow with a topical decontamination clay treatment using FEYNLAB® PRIME. If necessary, use a ferrous iron removal product to remove all embedded iron deposits. After polishing paint to desired level, remove all polish oils using FEYNLAB® PANEL PREP to ensure optimal bonding and durability of the coating.
Prior to application place vehicle in a well-lit, temperature controlled (10°C-30°C/50°F-85°F), & contamination free environment. Have plenty (6 or more) new microfiber towels, 2-3 microfiber sponge applicators, or 1-2 foam applicators on hand BEFORE application.
Once the car is prepared, we recommend taping off and protecting all unapproved surfaces. By performing this step, you minimize the risk of etching by the solvents in FEYNLAB® OVERCOAT v2 on unapproved surfaces such as rubber lining around windows and doors. Avoid these surfaces with OVERCOAT v2 and wipe off immediately if any contact occurs.
Shake OVERCOAT v2 vigorously for 30 seconds before use.
If applying over another FEYNLAB® coating, wait 2 hours (minimum of 1.5 and a maximum of 3 hours) for the base coating to set up. Then apply in the same application pattern as the base coating.
- Apply enough OVERCOAT v2 to a microfiber applicator to fully cover 2-3 panels, up to 1/4 of the vehicle.
- Make a “+” (plus) sign with product in the middle of the panel, then wipe around the boundaries of the section creating a frame.
- Next, fill in the framed area with slightly overlapping horizontal (left to right) straight lines over the entire panel. After, switch to vertical overlapping lines. This cross-hatching pattern ensures even application.
Allow to dwell for 10 minutes before wiping off OVERCOAT v2 following same pattern of application, using two clean microfiber towels.
– Towel A (left hand) will remove (level) the majority of coating residue.
– Towel B (right hand) will remove any remaining residue, revealing a crystal clear surface.
- If the surface is difficult to wipe clear (hazy) reduce the application area.
Recommended Maximum Area of Application:
2-3 Panels, up to 1/4 of the Vehicle. Then wipe off in same pattern as application.
Carefully inspect all finished panels for any leftover coating residue (high spots) during the final wipe. Commonly edges, emblems, and other tight areas may contain some remaining residue. High spots are much easier to remove if caught within a 20-40 min window after the final wipe than later, when the coating has set-up and curing has started.
OVERCOAT v2 Alone
Bake each panel with an IR lamp to reach a surface temperature of 60°C (140°F) for 15 min at a distance of ~ 30-36″ from the panel.
OVERCOAT v2 over Another Coating
If applying over another coating. Install base coating layer first. Wait 2 hours then install OVERCOAT v2 in the same application pattern as the base coating. After OVERCOAT v2 is applied to all surfaces, immediately bake each panel with an IR lamp to reach a surface temperature of 60°C (140°F) for 15min at a distance of ~ 30-36″ from the panel.
Post Application Instructions
- Avoid any incidental water exposure for 24 hours. If it occurs, gently wipe water off the surface.
- Avoid all chemicals including car washes for 7 days.
- Wash & Maintain using FEYNLAB® PURE WASH or FEYNLAB® PURE RINSELESS.
All FEYNLAB® Coatings are subject to different application dwell and cure time windows due to humidity and temperature conditions. In General, the higher the humidity level the quicker the coating will cure. If humidity level approaches 75% or higher then consider lessening the recommended dwell and wipe times for the coating.
Additionally, moving air will decrease coating dwell times for areas it contacts. Therefore, it is recommended to stop all moving air as much as possible during coating applications to ensure consistency for all portions of the vehicle.
Coatings are best applied in temperature controlled environments of 10°C-30°C (50°F-85°F), with humidity as low as possible.
